How to... have conversations about leadership
Efficiency is the ability to avoid wasting materials, energy, effort, money and time in doing something or producing a desired result. It is the ability to do things well, successfully and without waste. In organisations, efficiency plays a key part in growth and profitability.
Things to consider
Often one of the first questions of any leadership development session is this one. Identifying characteristics in others can help us understand the characteristics we bring to leaders and where there may be gaps. It can also be helpful to turn this question around and look at who you don’t respect
Leaders need to be able to make decisions. Often the focus is on the long term, but asking what needs to happen now can be a good grounding question
A great leader takes ownership of and responsibility for those in their care
Communication is another key attribute of leadership. We often overlook it and the impact it has. We can always be improving out communication
There will always be challenges present in leadership, it’s a question of which one needs you attention now, and that if overcome will make the biggest impact
Pick a specific situation. Ask this question. What advice would you give the person. listen to what you say. Now, how would you apply that to yourself!
